REVIEW: bareMINERALS GET STARTED KIT by BARE ESCENTUALS

If you find that liquid foundations are too heavy for your daily make up routine, bareMinerals by BARE ESCENTUALS will get you covered. Well, that’s what actually am expecting from this set, mind you. I’ve never been the mineral thingie type but this one looked it will deliver so I grabbed this baby kit at Sephora. For those days that I’d need a quick cover, I think this gets the job done.

My take on this shade: LIGHT

Makeup so pure you can sleep in it? No way. No matter how pure this one is, I still make sure I wash my face before bedtime. Got this for only SGD100 and there’s a mouthful of products inside the kit. 

Before when I see bareMinerals I immediately say No and am kinda stuck to the fact that they have always marketed themselves as being as 100% pure and the what not. Sounds too good to be true eh? This kit has hits and misses although it would really be great for those who wants a milder and quicker coverage on their daily routine.

Concealer (Bisque)

Very creamy, covers my redness and yes, you don’t even have to worry of the cakey-ness attack throughout the day.

Foundation (Light/Fairly Light)

Ultra light I say! Though it’s tedious for me 'coz I have to mix both to achieve the shade that I wanted. It gives me that healthy look as well. Again, no cakey-ness to be scared of! Plus they really blend well too.

Warmth

This is a complexion booster that brightens up the face. Scary at first 'coz of the dark chocolatey colour, but doesn’t come out as thick and dark as it looks. I make this as a sort of a bronzer & apply where the sun would usually hit my face, i.e  the forehead, cheeks and nose, so it makes me look a little sun-kissed! I skipped blushing when I use this too. Noice.

Mineral Veil

Love this. Keeps my oil at bay, for real. I’ve discovered a better way to use it: Apply this before your foundation for a more smoother and refined look. This veil soak up the oil on my face when I do that.

Prime Time Foundation Primer

(no pic for this sorry as I got it all used up already); a primer that is matched well with the foundation. I noticed that the output is not the same if I used other brands or if I didn't use any primer at all. This kit really requires this primer to be applied beforehand to achieve that flawless look.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Overall, this has been satisfactory. With the natural ingredients, it gives me that much healthier looking skin. As if my skin can still breathe throughout the day, without the heavier feel of liquid foundations. Do not expect this to give you that airbrushed look or the alabaster skin ha. It’s far from that. If you’re after the lighweight factor and natural look, then this is the kit for you.

Any cons? Yes. One word. Messy. Did you see that coming? Nuff said. It irks me 99% of the time haha!

Also, am not sure of the individual prices when you repurchase, defo expect a  sticker shock there for the cost. A good value for your money when you get this kit.
