Curly tops used to be my first love. Change of heart when Flat Tops was born.
I have always thought they're the same banana , just in different mold.
They have been our childhood fancies...well I guess up until now?
Nostalgia through eating is just awesome.
Ricoa Curly Tops Milk Chocolate
I opened it and was disheartened to see that the used to be curly tops is now gone. Last few years I remembered that I bought a pack of 24s and it still has some curls albeit a lot smaller. Haiizz, cost-cutting na talaga noh?! Nasaan na yung curly sa tops? Or better yet, rename it to Curly Sides na lang kaya?
These comes in small sizes...that one can easily finish a box of Curly Tops in less than 10 minutes. Sadly, the "curly tops" now is gone. Soft, with faint traces of powder and melts as fast as a lightning if left in the heat for long periods of time. Curly Tops have a more sweet milk taste rather than a rich bitter chocolate flavor, perfect for those who love creamy milk chocolate.
They have been an exchange gift material when I was younger. As this was one of those boxed candies in our school canteen that some couldn't afford to buy often kasi mahal! So if you're holding the boxed one, feeling rich ka haha. So old skool.
Ricoa Flat Tops Milk Chocolate
Small circular chocolates with "Ricoa" embossed on top and wrapped individually in the familiar silver and orange wrapper. Bite-sized and can be nibbled on or eaten as a whole. Soft when bitten, chewed or left to melt inside one's mouth. Until now I can't decipher why I tend to get sore throat after eating them though.
Flat Tops are creamier [IMO] with a faint milk chocolate flavor. Its sweetness borders on the less saccharine side of the chocospectrum. The 30pcs pack is so easy to finish in one seating. So I always opt to get those sold in boxes, flat tops galore!
As per a reliable source, flat tops is the dark chocolate version of curly tops, that's why curly tops melts faster than flat tops. Anyway, both are love!
Now am wondering if my favo SERGE chocolates still exists?
Now am wondering if my favo SERGE chocolates still exists?
Is there is an actual difference between the Curly Tops vs Flat Tops?
Indulge me fellow bloggers! Got any funny memories of these chocoweits?
