WICKERMOSS: REVIEW: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ISTANBUL.

Yo hey guys! I think some of you may have guessed it right! The CMI on my previous post is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ISTANBUL. Let me stress on that again- it's the ISTANBUL shade. The NYX Addis Ababa (bright hot pink) and the Sao Paolo (hybrid of pink & red) did not give me any trouble at all, except for this.

Well, it's expected. Whenever I order bulk items, there's a high %age that 1 or 2 of them will disappoint me, irregardless if they are of the same brand. Nevertheless, I'd give ~~again~~ an in-depth review of this SMLC by NYX.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

WHAT IT CLAIMS

Neither lipstick nor lip gloss—this is matte lip cream. A new kind of pout paint that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish. Soft Matte Lip Cream is surprisingly durable and, unlike some matte lipstick formulas, also moisturizing.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE PRODUCT

super pigmented; 9/10
incredible colour payoff
sleek clear tube packaging- so you will get the exact color as seen from the tube (as slim as 3-5 inches long)
featherweight; non-sticky
butter cream smell (like those frosting on cookies!) ; glides like butter cream too
staying power (approx 4-5 hours)
inexpensive (heard it's now selling as low as PHP280 (approx USD6/SGD8) from online sellers

WHAT I DO NOT LIKE ABOUT THE PRODUCT

this particular shade accentuates my lip lines; unsure why because the other two shades do not actually
dries up my lips after a few hours

FINAL THOUGHTS

Just 2 things: this is creamy as butter when applied; then dries up to a matte finish (around 2-3 minutes or so). If you're on a hunt for a matte, neutral pink color, this is for you. If you're in luck it will give you the cotton candy/barbie pink dolled-up look! Matte lipsticks have the reputation of accentuating lip lines & chapping, but it doesn't apply to ALL. That is so passé .
If there is such an influx going on with the makeup industry out there, well they're doing their homework for real. Trust me, not all mattes are like that. Sadly, this one is. I actually had high hopes for this, but yeah what to do. I'm still on the process of how will I make this work.
Shade-wise, it delivers. The real thing comes in on your tolerance level with regards to matte lipsticks.☺
