buffet - akin to having your brain be a slave of thy own stomach. psst. the parole is granted after an endless burping - and well, bloating.
It's always tricky to review buffet restaurants. Everyone else has different options. One might dip his fork first into the dessert station, some straight into the raw deal like oysters and sashimi, some for that salad bar crisp and freshness (leafy stuff? just can't wait to toss 'em!), others crave for freshly carved meat (that jiggly soft marbled cut of beef being sliced is therapeutic come on!) - in other words, it all boils down to your palate preference.
WE WOKE UP TO A LOVELY MORNING AT JEN.
WE HIT THE GYM AT ABOUT 7AM THEN HEADED BACK TO THE ROOM to rest for a while. i HAD A WARM CUPPA TEA enjoying the orchard skyline BEFORE we finally went downstairs for our BREKKY.
Here's what Hotel Jen has to offer for dining pleasure: Makan@Jen & The Club Lounge.
MAKAN @ JEN
Allow me to start with their Dinner Buffet.
I find that Jen 's dessert station has the most innovative and practical design. Just look at the cake shelving - those pull out drawers in particular. It keeps the cake maintain its freshness right and the labeling, such cute form of art in my opinion; it complemented the overall layout.
LOOK & MOOD
A relatively spacious and family-friendly buffet restaurant. It may not be the biggest buffet strip but it serves a decent selection of cuisines. This restaurant specializes in international cuisine and serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. A children’s menu is available as well. There is plenty of seating with ample space to walk along the aisles and between tables.

sushi n seafood
mains
they served this chef's specialty dish to us but then i forgot the exact name but i'm sure it's laksa a la jen. it was served piping hot, the sauce was not overly sweetened nor overly tangy, so so delish!
e's carnivorous plate. as usual, men. mad for meat.
salad, cheese and bread station
WOULD BE BEST IF:
- They make their food/dish label more prominent or noticeable. A few dishes were unnamed as well. You might notice that some of the labels were laid flat, no biggie for me actually. Maybe it was just my being OC? LOL. However their dessert station is totally an exception!
Highly recommended
- Desserts ! Especially their ice cream & cakes . Bonus if you love marshmallows! Seems like they have a mallow festival going on at Makan @ Jen .
Hot Choco & Mallows is ♡ Just don't ask how many cups I've wolfed down.
