OMOROVICZA: More Than Just a Luxurious Name Sitting on your Bathroom Shelf

Omorovicza: More Than Just a Luxurious Name Sitting on your Bathroom Shelf

If there is one brand that gets the best reviews on the net, hands down it's OMOROVICZA. You'd probably notice that their marketing is set to a down tempo; but crap that - this brand rocks.

OMOROVICZA prides itself as a luxury brand hailing from Budapest, Hungary. Seriously, 5-star rated Budapest spa skincare sitting on your bathroom shelf is more than an intrepid luxury; Omorovicza is spewing products with non-circuitous, razor-sharp quality.

Inspired by the healing power of Hungary's famous thermal baths, OMOROVICZA harnesses the skin-transforming benefits of this ancient beauty phenomenon into their products.

Omorovicza takes an artful approach to delivering nutrient rich minerals to the skin. Working with a Nobel-winning laboratory, famous for its discovery of Vitamin C, Omorovicza harvests minerals from the world's largest source of healing thermal springs and transforms their chemical composition, improving their delivery to the skin for optimum results.

Omorovicza Heritage

Rewind to 2000 years ago and there goes the discovery of the ancient thermal springs of the Hungarian capital of Budapest, home to the largest number of thermal water sites in the world and known as the International Spa City.  The beauty of OMOROVICZA is not just the perfect mix of naturally occurring minerals in the mud and waters they use, but their Mineral Cosmetology, a patented delivery system that maximizes the impact on your skin.

In 2005, co-founders Stephen and Margaret de Heinrich de Omorovicza began to experiment with techniques to distill the long-known benefits of the thermal waters into a skincare line. From then on, Omorovicza was born - a range of powerful anti-aging skincare that incorporates a unique patented delivery process called Hydro-Mineral Transference .

Omorovicza has been on my radar several years back but it kept pushing down on my list. Aside from its steep price point, I was already happy with my skincare routine. I am definitely very thankful for companies sending in press kits and all - what's more to be grateful for is that there are still existing companies that do not pressure you to put up a review in such a hurry.

I have come across a few agencies that bombarded my inbox with follow-ups and such; funny thing is they would even stress on this -  "No Obligations."  Something ephemeral as a rude attitude should not mark this type of unprofessional behaviour be condoned.  Oh man,  if you want a speedy but faux and full of crap review, then you're welcome to go and bark on someone else's tree then.

You see, skincare is incomparable to a tube of lipstick wherein 24 hours is sufficient to give your verdict. I prefer reviewing skincare products with the right ample of time - especially if your items originate from one of London's best facial spots, Budapest; or your products come with perplexing terms like Hydro-Mineral Transference

Omorovicza is no exception.

A luxury skincare brand like this deserves a legit review and thanks to the people who have sent them in earlier and understood that I needed more time to give my overall thoughts on it.

For those who wanted to get an extra grip of what does OMOROVICZA incorporate to their products:

Mineral Cosmetology- where minerals from Hungarian Thermal Waters are transformed into compounds for optimal absorption by the skin. Skin benefits: Increased collagen production, sun damage protection, improved antioxidant defense against free-radicals. tighter lipid matrix to lock hydration

Hydro-Mineral Transference  - a delivery system, to enable the absorption of minerals from the healing waters of Budapest by the epidermis for firmer, suppler and younger-looking skin.

So let me give you a quick rundown on the OMOROVICZA items that I've tried - and LOVED (so to speak!)

Omorovicza Cleansing Foam

This delicately scented blue cleansing foam swiftly purifies and refreshes the skin, morning or evening. The sulphate-free formula removes all makeup and impurities without stripping skin of moisture.Price S$100.00

  • Copper gluconate detoxifies, regulates sebum production and has an astringent effect to tighten pores.
  • White lupin extract energises and revitalises skin.
  • Apple pectin provides long-lasting hydration and improves suppleness.

Thoughts
  • Doesn't lather much on me; shall I say airy/light instead?
  • Does swift-cleansing, non-drying after wash feel.
  • Left my skin soft and smooth to the touch; imagine a little spa-like vibe in the comfort of your own home so your skin is always in for a pleasant ride.
  • You will love its baby blue colour (apart from the logo, the cleanser itself is hued pale blue). The color is not disturbing; copper gluconate is the culprit- it's a potent antioxidant that aids in the production of collagen and elastin. I love the uplifting scent.

Omorovicza Balancing Moisturizer

Ideal for oily and combination skin, this cooling gel-cream regulates the production of sebum to avoid shine. It provides perfectly calibrated long-lasting hydration though it absorbs instantly. It also helps to reduce pore size and blurs the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Reduce pore size and brighten skin with exotic fruits extracts.
  • Deliver long-lasting hydration and suppleness with apple pectin.
  • Minimise the appearance of fine lines and imperfections with ruby crystal.

Thoughts
  • My pores seemed to be less unclogged.
  • Sinks right in; great as a complexion enhancer before putting makeup.
  • Love the hydrating & light consistency.

Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist

A quick spritz of this neroli and rose-scented face mist refreshes the skin and lifts the spirits. Purifying and hydrating, this toner was inspired by the Queen of Hungary Water, the world’s first recorded perfume, formulated for Queen Elisabeth of Hungary in the 14th century. Perfect for a midday pick-me-up or as a post-cleanse toner. Price S$115.00

  • Purify and tone skin with orange blossom, rose & sage waters.
  • Deliver long-lasting hydration and suppleness with apple pectin.

Thoughts
  • Love the refreshing sensation it gives; my skin doesn't go thirsty nor get an uneven, patchy look
  • Fine mist spray that does not muss up with my makeup (no risk of fading foundation, yes.)
  • I like to bring this along especially after a movie night-out- 'reawakens' my skin the moment I got out of the cinema house (if you know what I mean)
  • if you can't be bothered to put on moisturizer on a particular day, you can have this as a substitute.
  • The smell is ♡  #soaddicting

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm

This gentle black facial cleansing balm is rich in Hungarian Moor Mud, whose unique mineral complex detoxifies and purifies the skin. It removes all makeup, including waterproof mascara, and cleanses all skin types without stripping to leave the complexion soft, hydrated and radiant. Price S$140.00 (50ml) S$230.00 (100ml)

  • Hungarian Moor Mud is rich in calcium and magnesium carbonates, humic acid and fulvic acid, which together purify and nourish the skin.
  • Sweet almond oil, rich in vitamin E, replenishes the skin and leaves it soft and hydrated while sweeping away makeup and impurities.
  • Uplifting orange blossom scent transforms cleansing into a sensual ritual.

Thoughts
  • Luxurious and award winning cleansing balm. It contains Hungarian Moor Mud harvested in Lake Heviz, the largest thermal lake in Europe; also applied in medical treatments for several centuries. The smell (similar to orange blossom)  may not be loved by many, but the cleansing factor was ace. Dissolves makeup like crazy; the oily feel am not a fan of but nothing a hot steamy washcloth can't fix; I sleep like a Queen afterwards - feel like royalty noh, hah!

Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask

Much more than a deep-cleansing treatment, this calcium and magnesium-rich mask clears congested pores and brightens tone as it draws out impurities.

Moor mud purifies the skin without leaving it taut.
Price S$100.00

  • Deeply cleanse and nourish the skin with Hungarian Moor mud, rich in calcium and magnesium carbonate.
  • Draw out toxins and impurities while naturally absorbing pore-clogging oil with white clay.

Thoughts
  • Light, mousse-like, creamy texture; not harsh on skin when applied.
  • I feel a slight tingling sensation but it shifts to a cooling effect..love.
  • My face is squeaky clean and suppler to the touch after washing it off.

Hot Items to ✔  out:
Deep Cleansing Mask / Thermal Cleansing Balm. A tie between these two. They deserve a spot in your skincare routine. Grab one. Now. Thank me later.

If you got extra $$$ to burn:
Queen of Hungary Mist

What I loved most:
Omorovicza does not load their products with parabens, sulphates, additives and fillers. That's brownie points to the nth level for me. Main cause of my breakouts come from these nasties.
Common FactorSpa-like Scent* There is something about the scent that makes it calming/relaxing.
Packaging:  Matte Glass Jar/Tube/Frosted Plastic Bottle with the Omorovicza Logo embossed.

OMOROVICZA is available at Beautique, located at Level 3, Takashimaya
Price range from $20-$550
