Botanical beauty brand AVEDA is committed to raising $5 million through its global network in April 2013 for clean water. Earth Month at AVEDA is an annual fundraising campaign that relies on the ingenuity and generosity of AVEDA beauty professionals, customers and corporate employees in more than 30 countries. The campaign has raised more than $26 million for environmental causes since its inception in 1999, Of which, more than $20 million have been directed to support hundreds of clean water projects on six continents since 2007.
In some developing countries where clean water is rare and people have to walk 6km to get water that may not be healthy, more than 4,000 children die from water-borne illness daily. A force for Nature, Aveda salons, spas, Experience Center retail stores, Institutes and corporate offices around the world organize thousands of fundraisers throughout the month of April. Catwalk for Water is a breakthrough initiative created to raise awareness of the global water crisis and AVEDA will hold its first Catwalk for Water in Singapore and Asia. The event will be an eye-opener with AVEDA'S global artists doing ‘live’ hair presentation of AVEDASpring/Summer 2013 hair colour collection and top stylists from prestigious local Aveda salons to perform ‘live’ with local interpretation of the S/S hair colours lookbook.
