WICKERMOSS: EVENTS: Exploring ELLIS FAAS Cosmetics at The Sccube.

ELLIS FAAS WHO?

Vogue Paris cited Ellis Faas as "one of the most influential make-up artists of her time". And indeed, she has worked with the world's most pre-eminent fashion designers, photographers, stylists, hairdressers and models. Ellis’ work has been published on the covers of the world’s best-known fashion magazines. Additionally, Ellis has worked for make-up brands, such as Clinique, Lancôme and MAC Cosmetics – and she was asked by L'Oréal to create a make-up line for their skin care brand, Biotherm. After the contract with L’Oréal ended in 2007, the way was paved for her to create her own brand: ELLIS FAAS.

I was invited to come down and explore the ELLIS FAAS Cosmetics which are being showcased at

Sccube, The Apothecary (Ngee Ann City). The SCCUBE team welcomed me with a complimentary facial treatment.

The facial room was cute, with those floral decors?

It seemed like a pre-school classroom or something.

The after-facial face..felt so refreshed after the treatment.

The unique cosmetic packaging system developed by make up artist Ellis Faas.

It is based on pigments naturally found in the human body; for example the red shades of blood or the purple hues of a bruise. Chrome was chosen to give the line a sexy and sleek look. Having always been fascinated by the practicality of military goods, Ellis felt inspired to create such usability in her line. The holder resembles a riffle being loaded with bullets as each torpedo shaped tool is placed in the unit. To add to the usability, Ellis developed the clips for a more compact and customizable way to travel with the products. You can check this video out on how to use these holders (CLICK!)

Ellis Faas makeup comes in a sleek chrome pen type of packaging...stunning at first sight! Eyeshadows, lipsticks,concealer,blush even foundation pens! Cool and practical it is but the downside? You end up getting a lot of product wastage especially if you are not one who is used to controlling these click-pen mechanism type of packaging. This requires many clicks before I managed to dispense the product.

The lipsticks and eyeshadows are deeply pigmented no doubt.

I've tried their foundation which you can also get in the traditional bottle; this has moisturizing ingredients and my skin felt hydrated just from the swatch alone.
