I do not intend to make any wishy-washy announcement.
I want to be frank and not be misunderstood.
Besides one must be frank in order to be relevant.
I am actually on the fence with regards to the status quo of this contest because of the recent issues hounding blogger giveaways. The aforementioned issue is like opening a can of worms. Re-phrased. A can of torpid worms. However the show must go on and I need to make a decision..now. I'm officially withdrawing the Urban Decay Naked Palette Contest for the time being. That simple. If only the Naked Palette is that simple to give away I would have done it already.
As I have checked the entries that came through my e-mail, I was relieved that there were < than 5 VALID entries up to date. To those who have sent me scornful ones i.e. as why the contest mechanics were so knotty, I still thank you. Again, I will have to stress that no one will ever be asked nor forced to join this.
I would prefer to wait for the output of the pending issues. Perhaps this is what my living in Singapore has made me become. Follow rules or else get fined. But then even in my own country? And I thought we are on a democratic state? The only thing I want to hear soon is that this issue has been resolved, wherein it will be all fair and just to everyone involved.
After reading this I would fully understand if a few would stop patronizing my site. That decision is again yours to make. I just have to make a stand in which I don't want to put any individual's security or privacy to be at stake just by joining my contest. Again as I have said, this is my site and I want to be responsible enough. Moreover, I have decided to put it off to further not jeopardize anything in the future.
To those who have joined:
Kindly wait for my reply to confirm your entry validity. I will be sending you a package that I think believe is worth your effort. Applied to both local and international. No reply from my end means your entry was disqualified.
Thank you.
Ignorantia juris non excusat or ignorantia legis neminem excusat (Latin for "ignorance of the law does not excuse" or "ignorance of the law excuses no one") is a legal principle holding that a person who is unaware of a law may not escape liability for violating that law merely because he or she was unaware of its content.
