Kanebo Kate Diamond Cut Eyes : A Good Start for Japanese Makeup
Kate , a drugstore brand by Japanese Kanebo Company, has become one of my favorite (drugstore) makeup lines due to their appreciable products but not really for their prices.
I remember getting this Kate Eyeshadow palette from this haul and here; and was surprised that Kate is actually pigmented despite of appearing to be too shimmery/glittery. Ahh, why are Japanese stuff always so good?!
Kate Kanebo eyeshadows are mostly in black plastic casings but with see-through diamond/round shaped covers. Just looking at it, one would know that this is a no-brainer palette.
BR-3 is a neutral and wearable palette, albeit being sheer and shimmery. Got good pigment and is smooth when applied; so just apt for that soft look. Not chunky as well. Unfortunately, they did not show up well when swatched on my skin. The pigments give just that nice lil sparkle you need, not OTT during daytime use.
# 1-2 are (apparently) shiny silver and gold highlighter to jazz up those peepers (which IMO are not really much of help). I tried dabbing them on the lids but not much of effect seen either. Feels a lil bit grainy too, sssup with these two eh?
Kate shadows do not crease surprisingly, even without primer (on me!) that is why I have come to love them. Staying power is good as well, the fading is unnoticeable ..now that's something. Totally love #5, a taupe/choco shade; livens up the eyes when worn.
If you are always up for work friendly palette, this is worth getting. If you haven't tried any Japanese makeup, look no further please, start with Kate Kanebo. Anyways, a neutral palette is always a must have in every makeup arsenal right?
