REVIEW: THE ULTIMATE TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL JACKSON AT THE MARINA BAY SANDS SINGAPORE
Michael.
Why die so soon?
For a moment I've uttered that question in my head as if Michael Jackson never left this world.
Lemme throw in the bullcrap that I wore Potter's Invisibility Cloak hence my absence. Now that the cloak's thrown into the laundromat, I'd like to think that I am back.
You know I had the chance to witness this uhmazin show at Marina Bay Sands called An Ultimate Tribute to Michael Jackson. You bet all I expected to see was a bunch of clones. But nah. It's more than the voice, more than the costumes, more than the suave moonwalk; I may not have seen the actual King of Pop in person, but I've felt something deeper, something more meaningful that puzzles the Jackson's thrill.
Let's face it, the King of Pop Michael Jackson is irreplaceable. For a man with such an enormous talent that is almost out of this world, with a string of sold-out concerts, his music & legacy will never die- well, he won't be called as such for nothing.
Witnessing The Ultimate Tribute to Michael Jackson concert held at the Marina Bay Sands Singapore makes one not become just a fan but it took the audience to Michael Jackson's en route to success, his transformation from the afro look to the mysterious man in Fedora, his insights, his love for music and the world.
A very influential individual who gave us not just his music but his whole heart. It is not the typical impersonation show with an MJ clone to it, the entire concert showcased Michael Jackson's artistic and entertaining prowess. Michael Jackson has created his own style of dancing, a tough nut to crack for someone who wants to put up a show like this; but they nailed it. The choreography & musical arrangements were flawlessly executed during the entire show.

The Ultimate Tribute to Michael Jackson featured songs performed live by one of the world’s top Michael Jackson impersonators, Dantanio Goodman. Goodman was born and bred in South Africa and began singing and dancing at the age of nine, developing a vocal repertoire spanning Pop, R `n B, Swing, Jazz and Reggae. He felt an affinity with Michael Jackson at an early age and his appreciation of Jackson's dancing evolved into obsessive practice as the taught himself to emulate every detail of the pop star`s trademark dance style. Michael Jackson's signature moves were beautifully done by the performer; it is not just the typical moonwalking- that night we saw how he definitely displayed this passion in whatever he is doing. Performing every song is a refreshing reminder of Michael Jackson's greatness as a performer, a spellbinding sight to behold.
Costumes were on point! The idea of interactive backdrops made the show even more beautiful to watch. It's like Michael Jackson is still very much alive, just plainly doing another show; goosebumps I tell you. Fond memories of Michael Jackson seemed to sway with the performer's every move. And the song execution, they are just pure bliss to my ears. The performer just did not sing and dance to the songs all throughout the show, the most difficult part was letting the emotions come across. This is undoubtedly mastered by the King of Pop, you will feel his soul in each of his songs. But with this show, expect something deeper- a different approach.
The Ultimate Tribute to Michael Jackson was truly engaging, no amount of MJ's macabre headlines, scandals and accusations could be traced on this night - the voice, costumes, choreography were thoroughly captivating. A beautifully assembled tribute to one of the greatest artists of all time, the one and only King of Pop, Michael Jackson. It was not too sentimental and definitely not a rip-off. A ferocious and entertaining show, highlighting Michael Jackson's road to music royalty and recapturing his magic that made an undeniable history.
Highly recommended show.
