[STILL WORTH THE HYPE?] TIM HO WAN: Doing Dim Sum All Day, Every Day.

Tim Ho Wan Singapore Food Review

TIM HO WAN  添好運  , IS THE MOST FAMOUS (& PROBABLY ze CHEAPEST) 1 MICHELIN STARRED DIM SUM RESTO FROM HONGKONG THAT MADE ITS WAY IN SINGAPORE.

MUCH HAS BEEN SAID ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT SINCE IT OPENED ITS DOORS TO OUR CITY BUT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, IS TIM HO WAN STILL WORTH THE HYPE?

As expected, this place is always packed; so if you get crabby while queueing, well then simply strike it off your list. Like it's the only place in town that feeds the dim sum craving crowd noh?! So if you don't mind the drive and wait, prepare your bum to get stuck for minutes or even hours before you can grab a pencil and tick the box on that order form. In case you're too ravenous, don't chew on that pencil will you?

It's been years since I've dined here and when i had the chance, I found myself ordering the same thing. You step into Tim Ho Wan not expecting much only good dim sum - in my case, gewd PORK BUNS to be exact.

Here's a breakdown of our usual order at THW:

baked bun with barbeque pork (must-try) . SGD5.30

HighsAlways served hot. Fluffy, airy, that sweet and salty tug-o-war of flavour in your mouth is just zen in a bun.

rice with chicken, sausage & mushroom. sgd6.50

Highs: A nice, warm and hearty rice bowl, it's really filling and reminiscent of a chicken sausage casserole. Wished there were more mushrooms in it tho!

Beancurd skin roll with pork & shrimp. sgd5.30

HighsThat chewy satisfying skin stuffed with pork and shrimp gives the BBQ Pork Buns a run for its money. Smooth with a moist filling, it's done a tad sweet; nonetheless, still a dim sum classic.

IN A NUTSHELL

TIM HO WAN CONTINUES TO TICKLE MY TASTE BUD - WITH FRESH, PIPING-HOT DISHES AND PROPORTIONATE SERVINGS, IT STILL remains TO BE THE MOST GO-TO DIM SUM DEN HERE IN SINGAPORE.
